I don’t know if it was just me being scared, or me not wanting to show that side of myself to my then husband.įast forward 15 to 20 years and I’m on an all out war on fixing broken electronics lol. Once I got into my 20’s, for some reason, I was more hesitant to work on them. Needless to say, as I grew older, any time there were issues with electronics, my family would ask me to look at it first to see if I could fix it. I could hear her mumbling “Wanted to see how it worked… Just like her dang father!” I was mad that she took my fun away at that time! It took me about 20 years before I appreciated the fact that she knew that I could put it back together. SHE FLIPPED! Ask/yelled at me “What the heck are you doing?” (Not quite those words, but, family friendly blog and all that.) I told her I wanted to see how it worked! She demanded that I put it back together before my stepdad got home and stormed into the kitchen. My mom came home to me sitting on the floor with the VCR taken apart in front of me. My grandmother, who lived with us at the time, was taking a nap. It was 1982 and my stepdad had just bought our first VCR. At the age of 10, my parents were divorced. Then? He’d proceed to take it apart to see how it worked. Computers, CB Radios, TV’s, to name a few. By this, I mean, any piece of electronics that he could get his hands on back in the 70’s, he’d make sure to get access to, if he could afford it. But, first, I’m going to share a little bit about myself. Yes, I know it’s the older model! However, I LOVE this one and it’s going to break my heart if I have to replace it.
